Did you listen the album of Alpha Wann UMLA

THE ALBUM OF THE WEEK: “UMLA” by Alpha Wann

After Alph Lauren 1, 2 and 3, Alpha Wann today unveils his very first solo album: A Hand Wash the Other (UMLA). A project that, in seventeen titles, allows him to definitely affirm his place and his versatility.

It was more than ten years ago: Alpha Wann made his first steps in the rap game alongside Nekfeu, Sneazzy or Areno Jaz in the 1995 group (which he co-founded). Now launched into a solo career, he releases A Hand Loses The Other, on which he speaks as much of the street as … of love.

In production, there is VM The Don, member of Don Dada (of which Alpha is, again, the co-founder) who also contributed to the “1000 ° C” of Lomepal, but also Hologram Lo ‘or Diabi. For the featurings, Alpha Wann has surrounded himself only with relatives: Sneazzy, Doum’s, but also OG L’Enf and Infinit ‘.

Criticism deploring the absence of Nekfeu (too busy preparing his new album?), The latter reacted humorously on Twitter: “dirty bastard why do not you tell them you removed my verse from the album # askipJétaisPasDansLeTheme # myFortWerewaxed #RelivablePane #DenisBrognAlph #NekfeuEtumLACaVaNoSet “(@nekfeu).

“You call her motherland I call her Nation Nation” rapes Alpha, a beautiful homonymy with “damnation”.
“Life is a winding path, alas I am lost, will I love my wife when she is old enough to please? He questions in “THE TRAP”.

On the tracklist side, we already knew “NARROW AND BLACK” and “IT GOES TOGETHER”, put online this summer. On the other hand, we discover Alpha Wann in full egotrip on “OLYMPIC FLAME” and “PARACHUTE CHANEL” before returning to a more nostalgic register in “FUGEES”:

“I just wanted the best girls the best parties, I should have been a better son a better brother …” the rapper laments.

More surprisingly, Alpha shows humility in “FOR THOSE”, which he dedicates to “girls I loved but did not like me”. In short, UMLA is a nice surprise that we dared not wait. Alpha warned us however in the third title of the album:

“I’m like the shit: staggering and black …”
